SMALL STEPS, BIG IMPACT

This organization was founded with hopes of filling the gaps within an underserved community. We want to ensure that our mission aligns with the needs of this area, which is why we’re constantly seeking feedback to help ensure a stronger, more viable future for the Alabama Black Belt. This is done through annual town hall meetings where residents can voice their ideas and get involved, and it’s done through regular engagement with our community.

While we would love to tackle it all, we envision a more organic growth for this organization, one that is natural and feasible for our very small team. Nevertheless, we are always dreaming up opportunities for the Black Belt. This organization will continue offering meaningful programs throughout the year based on our capacity levels. At this time, BBFP will operate in partnership with various local and regional organizations to create community-minded programs for this region.

VOLUNTEER

We are always looking for extra hands and minds. Our team is very small. It consists of our founder and our board members. We’re working our way toward a staff, but until that day comes, we rely on volunteers to help host programs, assist with setup/cleanup of events, program recruitment, community outreach and fundraising. If you are interested in joining our team, please contact us directly: hello@blackbeltfoodproject.org.
